Our guests, eagerly awaited the arrival of the world's last seagoing paddle steamer. Despite the damp conditions, spirits were high as we enjoyed the sounds of Professor Challenger's Musical Mechanical Marvels. A huge thank you to them for helping make the evening so special.

As Waverley approached, our Chairman, John, sounded Freshspring's whistle and our guests were thrilled when Waverley answered with a loud blast of her own whistle. The sight of so many flags waving and the sound of cheers ringing out across the river created a truly memorable atmosphere. In fact, we were making so much noise that passengers aboard Waverley could clearly hear our welcome!

Many of our guests stayed on board despite the damp conditions to wave Waverley off on her return journey to Ilfracombe, cheering once again as she sounded her whistle and steamed away.

It was a very special evening and one that would not have been possible without our volunteer team, who looked after our guests so well. We want to thank everyone who joined us. Your support and generosity are greatly appreciated, and all the proceeds help support the ongoing development and restoration of our beautiful ship, SS Freshspring.
