Steamship Freshspring Trust - Update 8
The mast work is going well – have a look at this aerial view.
Jet washing the exterior of the ship has been started – a necessary maintenance task to ensure that there aren’t any ‘nasties’ being hidden by the discolouration that has accumulated on the hull.
Today’s papers suggest that there may yet be a holiday season and we can only hope for the hard pressed south west region that, for some at least, there will be an income stream from visitors this year. The region relies a lot on tourism and Covid is hitting hard. Where this will leave Freshspring remains to be seen as social distancing on the ship for anything other than small numbers or family units will be an challenge. We hope to welcome people at some point – even in small numbers!
As always, we are planning for the future whilst being realistic about the difficulties we may face on the way!
