Gangway work ashore

Work ashore has been progressing with the fabrication of a raised structure to sit on the aft deck of Freshspring, onto which the gangway can attach. Due to how the ship moves around with the tide, we need to make sure the gangway can move around also, without damaging the quay or the ship. Sustainability Award from National Historic Ships

In January 2013 a Sustainability Award of £1000 towards the costs of a survey was made from the Strategic Development Fund of National Historic Ships UK. This has enabled us to employ a surveyor to conduct a walk through survey of Freshspring and focus our minds on what action we need to take next.
